Here you will find a list of events I am running in the next 12 months, subject to numbers and covid restrictions. Each day is 8 hours and those 8 hours can be counted toward your CPD requirements for your govening body. The links to more details will be updated over the next 2 weeks.
These CPD options are single day introductions to subjects frequently explored through the therapeutic alliance.
Any counsellor, therapist or trainee counsellor looking to increase knowledge and expand their professional expertise.
All these training days are stand alone, you do not have to come to part 1 to come to part 2. taken as a whole I cover alot of ground, but if you are only intereste in one or two topics just come to those.
The term existential comes from the root meaning "to come into existance, to become and remain extant." In therapy that is exactly what we do, we help people come into their own existance; to be authentically them, to explore what existance means and how to make contact with ourselves and our environment in order to live a fulfilling, meaningful life.
There are many aspects of religion which seem, at face value, to be beneficial. There are many books and training events about inclusion and tolerance, or about the beneficial aspects of religious life. This series of trainings looks at the difficulties and conflicts between counselling/psychotherapy and religion in general. I decided to write my book in response to my growing concern at the number of clients I am seeing who have been adversely affected by one or another aspect of religion. Then from that, I have developed these training days as a means to help exploration of some of the most difficult aspects of human behaviour we will face in the therapy room.
Please contact me for an informal discussion if you are considering any of the above training events. Check the links above for more details on the content of each days event. I look forward to hearing from you.
